You make me brave

You make me bravephoto-179

You make me brave

You call me out beyond the shore into the waves

You make me brave

You make me brave

No fear can hinder now the love that made a way

You make me brave

You make me brave

No fear can hinder now the promises you made

…gearing up for St. Jude. Lord, prepare our hearts for the family we will make there. Prepare our hearts for all of the aching parents we will meet there. Make us brave.

I first heard about your sweet Willa just yesterday as I “followed” a new Etsy user on instagram who just yesterday made a post about Willa. My heart immediately broke for you and your family and I felt the need to tell you about St. Jude as an option for treatment. 9 years ago my 14 yr old brother was diagnosed with leukemia and because of a crazy string of God-ordained events we knew we needed to take him to St. Jude. As I clicked on your blog here and started reading more of Willa’s story I quickly realized you have already made the decision to take her to St. Jude and I just want to encourage you that you are doing the best thing for your little girl. St. Jude has the best treatment and care in the world and will take care of you beyond belief, you will be in good hands there. I also wanted to share with you that my mom is now a part of a parent advisory board at St. Jude and travels from her home in Ohio down to Memphis every month for meetings and would be more than willing to be there if you need anything while she is in town. If you ever need anything while you’re there please feel free to contact me as we not only have many connections at St. Jude who are basically family to us but we also have good friends at local Memphis churches who would be willing to help you out with anything you need as well.
Your blog is a great encouragement and will have great impact so definitely keep up your writing. Your sweet girl has been laid heavily on my heart which has made me hold my little girl extra close these past few days. I’ve been praying for her and your family as you come to my mind throughout the day and will continue to do so. Remember no matter what that God is faithful and God is good. He will hold you and carry you and your family through this time.

We are a St. Jude family. One of my St. Jude friends sent me your post. Dr. Wilson is my son’s eye surgeon. You will be in wonderful hands. Tracy (Dr. Wilson’s nurse) is someone we call a friend now. St. Jude is like no other place you have ever been. You will be brave because we all are. God gives you the grace to walk through each day. If you want to get in touch with me, please feel free to email me and I will give you my cell number. Praying for you in these hard days of uncertainty.
